national museumThe U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is pleased to invite you to attend a press conference to present its Time Capsule: The Next 20 Years campaign. The event will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the National Museum in Sarajevo, at 11:00 am.

The Time Capsule campaign encourages citizens, especially youth, not only to think about their future, but also to record their vision for the next 20 years and demand the changes necessary for developing and creating a more tolerant and prosperous countr

On this occasion, the new Mission Director of USAID/Bosnia and Herzegovina, Peter Duffy, will present USAID’s vision for a better future in BiH, as well as USAID commitment to work in partnership with the BiH people to achieve those goals, and seal these in a USAID time capsule.

In addition, the media will be addressed by youth from two NGOs, KULT and Youth Sports Games, as well as Ines Kavalec, President of Dajte Nam Sansu (Give Us a Chance) Association for parents with disabled children.  They will share their reasons for participating in the campaign and their main messages for the future of BiH, and seal their messages in time capsules.

These time capsules will be sealed and, when the campaign ends on November 21, will be among all the time capsules to be held for safekeeping in National Museum until 2035, when they will be opened again.

One hundred time capsules are already in the hands of young people across the country. In addition, a larger, so-called ‘Alfa’ Time Capsule is now touring major cities in BiH to accept messages from all citizens. Citizens can also submit their time capsule message through the campaign website.

After the official part of the conference, journalists will have the opportunity to leave their messages for the future of BiH too.
