Vehicle Registration will be more expensive in the Federation of BiH

From tomorrow (Saturday), the price of vehicle registration in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) will be higher by 6.2 percent. On this occasion, the Insurance Supervisory Agency of FBiH was contacted, and they said that the basic premium is going to increase from the current 396 BAM to 420.55 BAM.

The Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Edin Forto (NS) said that the price increase will depend on the power of the engine, and it will be up to 100 BAM more than the current price.

When asked what caused the price increase, they stated that the decision was made in response to inflationary trends in accordance with the initiative of the insurance market, and with the aim of harmonizing regulations with those in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity.

“Decision on amendments to the Decision on the method of determining the premium tariff and price list for insuring vehicle owners against liability for damage caused to third parties, which was adopted by the Expert Council of the Insurance Supervisory Agency of the FBiH at the 18th session held on August 30th, 2023, was published on September 8th, 2023 in the Official Gazette of the FBiH No. 69/23 and will enter into force on the eighth day after its publication,” they said.

Insurance companies in the FBiH are obliged to issue auto liability policies in accordance with these changes as of Saturday, September 16th.

Yesterday, due to the increase in the price of vehicle registration, Minister Forto requested the immediate replacement of the management of the FBiH Insurance Supervisory Agency, Klix.ba reports.
