Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is the winner of yesterday’s Formula 1 race for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Dutchman recorded his second consecutive victory on the streets of Baku and the 67th triumph of his career.

Second place went to Mercedes driver George Russell, while Williams driver Carlos Sainz also reached the podium.

In the top 10 were Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), Liam Lawson (Red Bull), Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull), Lando Norris (McLaren), Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), as well as Oscar Piastri (McLaren).

Verstappen started the race from pole position, with Sainz behind him.

Lawson started from third place, and in the top 10 were also Mercedes drivers Antonelli and Russell, as well as Tsunoda, Norris, Hadjar, Oscar Piastri (McLaren), and Leclerc, while Hamilton started from 12th place after poor qualifying.

The start of the race was marked by a poor start from Piastri, who dropped to the back, and on the first lap, he hit the safety barrier and ended his race.

The safety car was deployed, and the race restarted on the fifth lap.

Piastri still leads the overall standings with 324 points, Norris is second with 299 points, while Verstappen is third with 255 points.

The next race will take place on October 5th for the Singapore Grand Prix.
