Association of the International Forum of Solidarity Emmaus is organizing the International youth working camp in Srebrenica for the twelfth time, and around 70 volunteers from all over BiH, Europe, and the entire world are participating this year, and they are contributing to the development and improvement of the living conditions of the people in Srebrenica with their hard work.
Numerous activities were conducted during the camp, one of which was the traditional cleaning of the Memorial Center Potocari after the commemoration that was held on July 11.
Besides that, the volunteers cleaned the settlement Stari grad and they successfully implemented the reconstruction of the house of a socially vulnerable family in the Municipality of Srebrenica.
“On the recommendation of the Mayor of this municipality and the Center for Social Work, we worked on the reconstruction of the house of Ostojic family from the village of Gnjion. When we saw in what kind of conditions this family lived, we decided to help. We built the house, and the bathroom is still under the construction because this family lives without the basic conditions. Moreover, we brought the water to one grandma in the village of Brosevici and we painted her house,” said coordinator of the 12th International youth camp in Potocari, Mirela Ahmedbegovic.
