The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that the counting of votes for the candidates for representatives of the Assembly of Kosovo from the parliamentary elections held on February 9 will begin today, reports Kosovo Online.
On Monday, SIPA spokesperson Valmir Elezi pointed out that after the completion of those procedures, the counting of votes cast outside of Kosovo, conditional votes, votes collected by mobile election teams and others, which is provided for by the Law on General Elections, SIPA will announce the final results for political subjects and candidates for people’s representatives.
In the elections, 1,280 candidates from 28 political parties competed for the election of the Assembly with 120 mandates.
According to the latest published results, the Self-Determination Movement is in first place with 40.83 percent or 339,350 votes, DPK in second place with 22.15 percent or 184,087 votes, DSK in third place with 17.59 percent or 146,241 votes and ABK in fourth place with 7.47 percent or 62,066 votes.
These results are preliminary and do not include votes from conditional seats, votes of persons with special needs and votes from outside Kosovo.
Based on these results, it is expected that Self-Determination will have 47 representatives, DPK 25, DSK 20 representatives and ABK eight representatives.
