The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, made the announcement before his trip to New York and the UN General Assembly, where the Resolution on Srebrenica, which has been causing controversy for some time in political relations in the region, should be discussed.

“I am going to New York to fight with all my strength and heart for the future of our country,” said Vučić after attending the service of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in the Church of Saint Sava in Vračar this morning before Vučić’s departure to New York and participation in the session of the UN General Assembly, where he will on May 23 to discuss the resolution on Srebrenica.

Vučić stated that before his trip to New York, he asked for a blessing from Patriarch Porfirije and prayed to God in the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

“Those who are against us are strong, but Serbia is our greatest sanctuary. There are many lies, but the truth is one and eternal. Our tricolor will fly proudly in New York, and under its auspices everyone will find new energy in advocating for a more just world libertarian countries, all nations that fight for dignity and justice, which has been meaningless and humiliated for a long time. Long live Serbia!” Vučić wrote on Instagram.

The patriarch said that they gathered in the temple to pray before Vučić’s trip to New York and the discussion on the resolution on Srebrenica and the genocide that took place there in July 1995.

“We consider it untruth and injustice in relation to the Serbian people,” said the patriarch.

The President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik was with Vučić and the Serbian patriarch in the temple.
