The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said that claims about his involvement in the “Sarajevo Safari” are not true.
He said that those making these claims got the timeline wrong regarding his stay in Pale, and that a photo of him was altered. According to Vučić, a rifle was added using artificial intelligence.
“I have 120 people who know exactly what I was doing every day. They were off by eight months about the time I spent in Pale. They make things up. They added a rifle to my photo using AI, but they made a mistake and put it on my left shoulder. A right-handed person would not carry a rifle on their left shoulder,” he said.
The story of the so-called “Sarajevo Safari” has been mentioned again in recent months. In a better world “Sarajevo Safari” might be the name of an adventurous tourist attraction, but in the dark whirlwind of war it referred to foreign nationals who came to positions around besieged Sarajevo during the war and shot at civilians. These claims have been present for years, but there are still no concrete legal results.
