Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that he does not want to meet with representatives of the European Parliament (EP) delegation because they “arrive uninvited” in Belgrade.
He told reporters during his visit to Abu Dhabi that he will not be in Serbia when the MEPs come because he has obligations that were previously agreed upon, but that he certainly would not meet with them.
“The haters of Serbia sat down and agreed that they were going to come to Belgrade and they didn’t ask us or inform us. We didn’t call them. They come uninvited (…); I have other commitments scheduled in Davos. I don’t avoid them, but even if I was in Belgrade, I wouldn’t meet with them,” said Vučić.
He said that he wants to meet only with people who wish good for Serbia and that he will do so in Davos.
Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić said yesterday that the delegation of the European Parliament is coming without an invitation, and that she will not meet with them since they will be in Estonia.
The mission of the European Parliament will be in Belgrade from January 22 to 24, and Vučić will then attend the World Economic Forum in Davos.
