Vucic: Serbia never intended to attack anyone in the Region

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters after the Summit of the European Political Community in Granada that Kosovo will be discussed at the European Council session on Friday.

He said that he is convinced that at the Council session “some will try to talk about Serbia in different ways”.

Vucic pointed out that he did not talk to the representatives of Pristina, nor that they want to talk.

“If you ask me if I tried to explain Serbia’s position, I have always done that and I will always do that,” said Vucic.

He added that yesterday evening he had talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while he also planned to talk with the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell, yesterday afternoon.

Vucic added that Serbia has never stood for sanctions against Pristina, because Serbia is interested in life, while for some others the policy is based on a story against Serbia.

Asked if anyone had spoken to him about the measures against Serbia, Vucic said that he had spoken to everyone.

Vucic added yesterday that he planned to give more information about everything last night after the meetings with Macron and Borrell.

He pointed out that “Serbia never intended to attack anyone in the region” and that “Serbia even reduced the number of soldiers on the administrative line with Pristina.”

“When we declared a high degree of combat readiness last time, it was a year ago, we hired 14,000 people, now when we had a crisis there were 8,500 people,” said Vucic.

Vucic pointed out that he believes in peace and prosperity in the entire Western Balkans, N1 reports.
