Member of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović received today in Sarajevo Waqar Azmia, President of the Initiative for Remembrance and Education on Srebrenica from the United Kingdom and the Ambassador of Great Britain to BiH Nigel Casey.
During the meeting, Azmi stressed his desire for bigger cooperation with BiH. He spoke to Izetbegović about the activities of the initiative that he represents.
He devoted special attention to the details of the “Day of Remembrance” in Srebrenica planned for 11 July 2013 at “Lancaster House” in London. High officials of the British government announced participation at this event, and Azmi took this opportunity to invite Izetbegović.
Member of the BiH Presidency Izetbegović thanked Azmi for his arrival to BiH, and the expressed commitment to spread the truth about the genocide in Srebrenica. He emphasized his support for the organization “Srebrenica Remembrance Day” in London. Among other things, he said that the world should not forget Srebrenica and its suffering, and that the organization for this day is of great importance.
At the meeting they spoke of the current political situation in the region and in Europe, and of the various possibilities for cooperation, announced the BIH Presidency.
