passportThe Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, in accordance with the situation in the world and the security risks, issued a new warning or recommendation to the citizens of BiH to refrain from traveling to the six countries of the world.

On that list are Turkey, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Ukraine.

However, experts state that there is no completely safe place on the planet at this point.

“We do not need to be too informed to know that we should not go to these countries. Of course, this does not mean that the Ministry should not alert citizens, ” said Dragomir Jovicic, an expert on security, adding that it is a certain risk to go anywhere in Western Europe.

“Overall, security risks and challenges are bigger than ever, we have certain global trends, migrant crisis, and radical movements. So there is no safe country today,” said Jovicic.

He cited Germany as an example, which received a million refugees in the year, and “six months later admitted that they do not know where 130,000 of them are.”

From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the situation in the world is constantly monitored and based on that issued a warning to citizens or remove countries from the list.

“Based on information that we receive from our diplomatic and consular missions and our team for crisis situations we make an assessment of the situation. All factors are taken into account, whether it is security situation, weather conditions or something else,” as stated from the Ministry.

Potentially dangerous country to travel by the relevant ministry are located on several continents, and they advise caution or postponing travel if possible.

Turkey (Caution)

After the failed coup in Turkey, MFA recommends BH citizens who are traveling to this country caution when traveling, which includes avoiding the presence in places of mass gathering, for whatever reason, consistent compliance with safety recommendations by the Turkish authorities, as well as the recommendations made by the administration tourist resort in which they are located.

Yemen (not travel)

MFA urges citizens not to travel to Yemen because of increasing violence and deterioration of security situation. BiH does not have a resident diplomatic mission or consular post in Yemen, and it covers the country from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which is an additional aggravating circumstance.

Libya (not travel)

Warning for Libya stands due to a significant deterioration of the complexity of the security situation and the existence of a real threat of armed attacks and kidnappings in the country. As unsafe zones were listed: Zintan, Ben Walid, Derna, and the very south of Libya.

Iraq (not travel)

Because of the poor security situation, citizens that are residing in Iraq are advised to consider leaving this country. BH citizens who need help can ask for it in the Embassy of BiH in Jordan.

Ukraine (caution)

Ministry urges BH citizens to refrain from traveling to Ukraine because of the current riots in that country. MFA advises citizens of BiH who are currently in Ukraine to consider the possibility of leaving this country as soon as they get safe conditions for it.

Syria (not travel)

It is recommended for BH citizens not to travel to Syria until further notice due to the complex security situation. Before the trip, if the trip is urgent, it is necessary to get accurate information about the situation in some parts of the country.
