Warning issued for Rain and Thunderstorms in BiH

A yellow weather alert is in effect due to thunderstorms in northwestern, northeastern, central and southeastern Bosnia, and in eastern Herzegovina due to high daytime temperatures.

Thunderstorms are expected in the Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Prijedor and Foca regions.

“Local thunderstorms are expected. Expect minor disruption to outdoor activities. Be aware that thunderstorms may occur. Take extra care in exposed areas, such as mountains, forests and open terrain. Disruption to outdoor activities is possible, warning of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the same time, maximum air temperatures of around 32 degrees Celsius are expected in the Trebinje region, which is why the yellow weather alert is in effect.

“Be aware that high air temperatures are expected. There are possible health risks among vulnerable people, for example the elderly and very young people,” emphasizes FHMZ BiH.

Mostly sunny weather prevails in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is fog in the valleys in Bosnia.

Air temperatures measured at 08:00 hours were Bjelasnica 12, Ivan-sedlo and Livno 15, Bihać 17, Sanski Most, Sarajevo, Tuzla and Zenica 18, Banja Luka and Doboj 19, Bijeljina 21, Trebinje 22, Gradacac and Mostar 23 degrees Celsius.

Mostly sunny today before noon. In Bosnia, there will be fog in the valleys for part of the morning. With the development of cloudiness in the second part of the day, local showers with thunder are expected throughout the country. Wind weak from the south and southeast direction. The highest daily air temperature is mostly between 27 and 33, in the south of the country up to 35 degrees Celsius.

Mostly sunny in Sarajevo for most of the day. A shower of rain is possible in the afternoon. The highest daily air temperature is around 31 degrees Celsius.
