Warning Strike of the Trade Union of the Privatization Agency in FBiH

The trade union of the Agency for Privatization in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) has launched a renewed warning strike demanding the active involvement of the Government of the FBiH in the urgent resolution of the unblocking of the account of the Agency of the specialized organization of the FBiH, established by the Act on the Agency for Privatization.

The unblocking of the Agency’s account is a prerequisite for the fulfillment of the demands of the Union regarding the payment of unpaid wages and benefits with the associated taxes and contributions since January of this year (six wages so far), and therefore the provision of health insurance, which the workers were left without in these pandemic conditions.

The union also requests the provision of work resources (office space, office supplies, and telecommunications, which are threatened by non-payment of the aforementioned services) for the normal performance of work according to the labor contract and the jurisdiction given by law.

From that union, they state that the Agency has been working in impossible conditions for the third year, because the accounts have been blocked by the execution of the verdict of the Supreme Court of FBiH, and because of the high amount assigned, the Agency cannot solve this problem on its own.

The workers of the Agency, the trade union adds, have not been paid their salary and allowances for six months, and they have not been paid regularly for the third year. Workers regularly come to work and perform their contractual obligations, of course within the given possibilities. All the workers’ accounts have been blocked due to months of inability to repay the loan, their electricity is cut off, and the existence of all their families is absolutely threatened.

”Therefore, we ask the Government of FBiH to urgently create the preconditions for the settlement of the Agency’s obligations to the workers from 2021 and 2022, and finally solve our difficult situation, because the prolongation of the agony represents only an increase in obligations and the destruction of our health,” they said from the Trade Union Organization of the Agency for Privatization in FBiH.
