During President Aleksandar Vučić’s visit to Čipuljić village near Bugojno, where his family originates from, a security incident occurred when members of the Central Bosnia Canton law enforcement noticed the special forces of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska moving around Bugojno without authorization.
Yesterday, the delegation led by Vučić and the President of the SNSD, Milorad Dodik, stayed at Vučić’s birthplace in the village of Čipuljić near Bugojno. Around 30 armed members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior’s Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ) were moving near the delegation with vans and ATVs, not wearing police uniforms or displaying any police insignia.
As Klix.ba learned, they were spotted in a forested area near Bugojno by officers of the Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of Interior, who were securing the area and to whom they stated “reconnaissance” as the reason for their presence.
The Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of Interior special unit was informed about the presence of armed, plainclothes SAJ members and moved in to inspect. After that, the SAJ members escaped the forested area and the column of their vehicles headed towards Donji Vakuf. They were spotted in the Central Bosnia Canton and Canton 10 areas, where the special forces of the Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of Interior ordered them to leave the canton.
It is confirmed that one of the vehicles of the SAJ members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior is registered to the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, and the other two to another legal entity.
To remind, under applicable laws, Aleksandar Vučić is entitled to a police escort consisting of officers from the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DKPT BiH9, assisted by local police forces on the ground.
In the Republika Srpska area, the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska is in charge, while in the Bugojno area, the Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of Interior is responsible. Officers from the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska are not permitted to cross the entity boundary without prior notification. Furthermore, this armed formation was not announced to either the Central Bosnia Canton Ministry of Interior or the DKPT.
Thus, if it is familiar that Aleksandar Vučić’s delegation was announced, the question arises whether the special forces of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior actually reconnoitered the area because of Milorad Dodik? The members of the special forces of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior closely followed Dodik while he was evading the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina and refusing to respond to a summons.
Officials of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior have not yet commented on this incident, Klix.ba writes.
