As of May 31, 2022, there were 360,511 persons in the records of employment institutes and services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed persons is lower by 5,367 persons or 1.47 percent, and of the total number of persons seeking employment, 208,491 or 57.83 percent are women.
Compared to the same period last year, unemployment in BiH is lower by 35,488 persons or 8.96 percent. Compared to the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, unemployment decreased by 42,377 persons or 10.52 percent.
Unemployment decreased in the Federation of BiH by 4,106 persons (1.41 percent), in the Republika Srpska by 1,136 persons (1.63 percent) and in the Brcko District of BiH by 125 persons (2.3 percent).
In May, a total of 20,247 persons were deleted from the records of employment services, of which 9,205 were women. Of that number, 9,764 people are employed, of which 4,752 are women.
According to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency, in April 2022, the number of employed persons in BiH was 843,194, of which 375,411 were women. Compared to March 2022, the number of employed persons increased by 0.2 percent, and the number of employed women increased by 0.5 percent.
The rate of registered unemployment for April 2022 was 30.3 percent and compared to March 2022 it is 0.4 percent lower, the Agency for Labor and Employment of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
