The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina has information that there is currently a group of about fifty Russian citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly from Chechnya.

These persons legally entered BiH on the basis of the visa-free regime, and most of them are located near the border crossing “Maljevac”, and want to continue their journey to the countries of the European Union because they want to avoid mobilization in Russia, the Ministry of Security announced.

The Ministry will ask the competent security agencies for a detailed analysis of the current situation, after which it will prepare a proposal for measures to preserve the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As stated in the announcement, the Ministry, in cooperation with the Border Police and the Service for Affairs with Foreigners, will take all measures within its legal competence and will continue to monitor the situation on the ground.
