Bihac Airport has issued a public invitation to the owners of the land located on the surface where the runway will be built. It is the first step, for the long-awaited payment to the owners of the land where the airport should be built in about four years.
Muhamed Memagic has land in Golubicko polje, which, he says, he cannot reach anyway, due to the construction of the airport, which is why he is looking forward to a public invitation to restore the family home with these funds.
“You couldn’t even approach it since it was fenced off because of the airport, so I can say that I’m not even sorry that it will be stolen because I don’t work on it,” says Muhamed.
“And so it’s all for nothing, I give it to people to process, I don’t even get a box of cigars.” I better get to the airport then. I have two daughters and a son, I will give them something and leave something for myself,” says resident Halid Kadic.
On the other hand, those who cultivated the land believe that they were harmed by this project.
“Let us, whose land is being taken away, give them a job, because what will we live on?” He says: You will get money. Well, I’ll pay you not to touch me. I bought that land with my ten fingers, and the one who inherited it is begging God to grant him something,” says Nermin Memagic, a resident.
Five million marks for this purpose are in a special account of the Government of the Federation. And in 15 days, 170 co-owners of plots necessary for the construction of the airport will be invited to sign the agreement, after which the payment will follow within thirty days.
“The assessment was done on 1,050 pages. The amount per square meter is 17.92 BAM, with the obligation of the public company to pay all the foreseen taxes”, says Anel Hadzic, director of Public Enterprise Aerodrom Bihac.
The management of the company emphasizes that this is a national, strategic project and that, if everything goes according to plan, the first planes could land at this airport in four years.
“We got all the recommendations and how to do it, given the terrain, all the tests of the G1 mission were done where the ground showed that it could withstand a load of 80 tons. This means that the Boeing 737 700 reference plane can land,” Hadzic said.
It is estimated that the construction of this airport will cost around 100 million marks.
