At one time, the national airline BH Airlines operated in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company, whose partner and co-owner was Turkish Airlines, went bankrupt, and Zamaaero announced the whereabouts of its planes today.

Boeing 737-400 TC-JDH, which was leased from Turkish Airlines, entered the fleet in V/2009. and left the fleet in VIII/2010 when it was returned to Turkish, after that it was converted into a cargo plane and flew for Europe Airpost, TNT, ASL, FedEx, and from V/2022 it flies cargo for New Zealand Airwork.

Airbus A319 TC-JLR, which was leased from Turkish Airlines, entered the fleet in VIII/2010 and left the fleet in II/2012 when it was returned to Turkish, since IX/2018 it flies for Air Albania, and since V/2024 it has been handed over To Avolon, writes Zamaaero.

The fate of BH Airlines

BH Airlines is the successor of the original BH airline Air Bosna, which was founded in 1994. The company operated regular and charter flights to several destinations in Europe. But bad business and big losses slowly led to the collapse of the only state-owned airline.

After tranches to help survival, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision in June 2015 to shut down BH Airlines, which at that time had a debt of 17 million US dollars. The last commercial flight took place on June 11, 2015.

Workers lost their jobs. The bankruptcy proceedings were opened on September 28, 2016. The company had about 100 employees, and now 26 are employed at the Sarajevo airport, 41 were awaiting bankruptcy, and the rest went outside BiH to work.
