Plans for this year include preparation and construction of sections on the Corridor 5C through several parallel activities, said the Federal Minister of Transportation and Communications Denis Lasić yesterday in Mostar, while presenting results of the work of this ministry in the past 13 months.

Lasić added that contract on the loan for construction of highway section Počitelj-Buna and continuation of construction of the section Zenica South-Zenica North was signed in December last year.

According to Lasić, in the past five months it was intensively being worked on providing additional funds for continuation of the construction. The majority of funds was agreed with international finance institutions, i.e. a credible framework for closing the financial construction worth 892 million EUR is created.

Thus, the plans for this year include continuation of construction of the section Drivuša-Klopče with the funds from the Kuwaiti fund for economic development, beginning of construction of the section Zvirovići-Međugorje-Počitelj, continuation of construction of the section Zenica North (entrance to the tunnel Zenica), continuation of activities on the construction of the section Mostar South-Buna, etc.

The Minister also stated that the FBiH Government reached a decision on the model of implementation of the project of construction of the highway section Konjic-Mostar North on the Corridor 5C, which defined the route according to the conceptual design that passes through the Bijela Valley and the Prenj Mountain in the length of 35.16 kilometers between Konjic (Ovčari loop) and Mostar North (Vrapčići loop).

Speaking of main and local roads, Lasić said that they have been repaired and reconstructed, but also constructed. Plans for 2016 in this field include the completion of works on the construction of the road M18 section Kladanj-Podpaklenik, mountain pass Karaula. In addition, also planned is the contracting of works on the Sarajevo bypass LOT 2C Briješće-connection with the Safeta Zejke Street and the implementation of tender and contracting of other works on the road Neum-Stolac, section Kiševo-Bročanac.

Regarding the railroad traffic, currently in progress are works on the reconstruction of the section Bradina-Sarajevo in the length 41 kilometers and deadline for completion is August 2016. With this reconstruction, the reconstruction of the south route of the railroad Corridor 5C would be completed.
