The performers for five New Year’s Eve nights are known. But for the most important one, December 31st, the City of Sarajevo has not yet presented the public with either a performer or a location.
Five Nights with Names, One Without
The President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, Haris Fazlagić, said on September 10 that the Tourist Board prepared its part of the program. Tijana Dapčević, Valentino and Neno Belan will perform from December 28th to 30th, while Divlje Jagode and Tony Cetinski will perform on January 1st and 2nd.
He didn’t want to say anything about who will perform on December 31st until the City Administration completes its part. He added that the City had not yet issued a public call for the central celebration. Unofficial speculation circulated about Marija Šerifović’s performance. According to reports at the time, the location of the central program was supposed to be known only after the City’s decision.
A month has passed since that statement. By the end of this text, we have not found an official announcement about the performer or location in available resources. As we have learned, Marija Šerifović’s performance will not happen.
