ministry-of-defenseIn recent days in the public sphere of BiH was discussed the information that we will soon get a new intelligence service, which will monitor civilians. This topic was mostly discussed in the RS, and even the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, commented on this topic.

He stated that this was proposed by the Parliamentary Military Commissioner and that it is “unacceptable, because the safety of the RS is responsibility of its government”. Moreover, Dodik said that this is proposal of the Alliance for Change, who suggested that this service should be established within the Armed Forces of BiH.

“The Ministry of Defense planned activities on the preparation of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Defense within the Work Program for 2016. The task was assigned to the Sector for Intelligence and Security, since these are amendments to Article 9, which refers to the issue of military intelligence activities.

Thus, changes in the intelligence and security in the Ministry of Defense of BiH have already been announced and the security of the citizens of our country should be improved, but the ministry does not know anything about the new intelligence agency in our country.

“Ministry of Defense wants to introduce the public that in the first uncorrected text, which was considered and published by working group on the intranet site of the Ministry of Defense, that there is nothing about the new agency, nor the responsibilities of intelligence services in monitoring of civilians, nor the expansion of the jurisdiction of military intelligence service outside barracks, nor anything about the withdrawal of competence of Intelligence and Security Agency, changes or derogation of the Law on the of Intelligence and Security Agency or the Law on protection of classified information etc,” as said in the statement from the Ministry of Defense.
