Because people are worried that a problem in the Middle East might affect Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are making sure to be extra safe. The person in charge of keeping the country secure, minister of security Nenad Nesic, said that they are being more careful. They want people to tell the police if they see anything that could be dangerous. The other countries nearby are also being more watchful at their borders.

The Security Minister in our country is making sure we stay safe. He asked the security agencies to tell him what they’re doing to protect us. He mentioned what happened in France and Austria and how those countries also increased their security because of the danger of terrorism.

“I want our security agencies to do everything they can to keep us safe. They need to think about what’s happening in the world and in Europe, and consider everything that’s going on around us. Our main job is to protect the people who live in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Nesic said.

The chairperson of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, wants BiH to be ready and take care of the responsibilities.

“We are aware of the challenges we face, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the region, and even outside the European Union. All of this is reflected in one way or another on the opportunities and relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we must be prepared and strive for this.” Officials in all aspects, to do the work according to their competencies and to align their foreign policy with that of the European Union,” emphasizes Kristo.

Currently, nine countries are in charge of controlling the borders within the Schengen area. This is because there are a lot of people moving from one country to another and some of them might be dangerous. The Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, wants to make sure everyone is safe.

The problems happening in the Middle East are causing problems in Europe. The leaders of European countries talked for a long time about this on Tuesday. So, our security services are watching everything very carefully to make sure everyone is safe, because the world is not as safe as it used to be.

The Center for Security Studies is telling people in Bosnia and Herzegovina that if they see something that could be dangerous, they should tell the right people right away. There are groups of citizens in different cities who are waiting to help. Some groups in other countries are already doing this. The Center wants the security teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina to be ready to keep people safe. They think it’s important for citizens to give any information or tell the police about things they see.
