Džumhur vs. Federer klix.ba

The 3rd Grand Slam tournament of the season, Wimbledon, began yesterday in the 129th edition on courts of the All England Club.

From its start in 1877, Wimbledon has remained to be the most prestigious international tournament and the only one that is played on grass.

In the men’s category, Novak Djoković will be defending the title of Champion, and Czech Petra Kvitova in the women’s category.

Besides Djoković, the other player favorites are Scot Andy Murray and Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, the recent winner of the “Roland Garros” Tournament, and Roger Federer, who will play his first match with B&H’s best tennis player, Damir Džumhur.

This season, Džumhur already had a chance to play with one of the best players of all time in the 3rd round of the Paris Roland Garros Tournament, when Federer won with a score of:  6:4, 6: 3 and 6:2.

The twenty three year old player from Sarajevo did not have much luck in the draw, considering he doesn’t have much of a chance of making it to the second round playing against a tennis giant, but it is sure that Džumhur will do his best to challenge the title of the second player in the world.

The match between Džumhur and Federer will be held today at the Centre Court of Wimbledon.

In the women’s draw, the title of the winner will be defended by Kvitova, but the best odds are given to an American that will go for her 6th title at Wimbledon, and a total of 21 Grand Slam titles in her career.

The final matches will be played on July 11th and the 12th.
