wizzairWith the introduction of five new international airlines, the investment of Hungarian low-cost airline “Wizz Air” in Tuzla International Airport continues. New airlines to Vaxjo, Bratislava, Friedrichshafen, Cologne and Nuremberg have created 36 new workplaces.

“With the flight to Malmo we have started with our flights to BiH in 2013, and two years later we opened our ‘Wizz Air’ base in Tuzla and brought a modern Airbus A320, with which we enabled new workplaces of the local population. We recorded a constant growth and last year we recorded 600,000 passengers that were transported by the International Airport Tuzla. This year we have our new base airplane in Tuzla, and we have added another airport, that is, we started flying from Sarajevo,” said Sorina Ratz, Manager of Public Relations in “Wizz Air”.

In 2017, “Wizz Air” introduced six new airlines from BiH in four countries, including low-cost route Sarajevo-Budapest.

The second base plane that will be in Tuzla as well, will increase the number of weekly flights on existing airlines from Tuzla to Eindhoven, Gothenburg, Malmo and Frankfurt (Hahn).

Currently, this company from our country offers a total of 17 routes to eight European countries.

Due to the expansion of air traffic in Canton Tuzla, there is a need for an extension of the existing airport capacities.

“I want to emphasize that the administration of the International Airport Tuzla together with the Government of Canton Tuzla, led by Prime Minister Bego Gutic, is conducting major activities on the reconstruction and upgrading of the passenger terminal of Tuzla Airport. We are planning to serve 700,000 passengers at this terminal in the following period, and it should satisfy all the needs of the airport in the future period,” said Rifat Karasalihovic, the director of the International Airport Tuzla.
