This Sunday a new group of five young civil servants from BiH will join their peers in an EU funded regional training and exchange program. A pre-departure event was organised in the EU Info Centre in Sarajevo on 30 November.

“We are looking at you as young people and as civil servants who will carry this country towards the European Union. You are part of new dynamics in the region and I am looking forward to see what are you going to bring back from this experience,” Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Khaldoun Sinno said, addressing young BiH civil servants who are joining the EU Scheme for Young professionals in the Western Balkans this year.

Adnan Tatar from the Office of the FBiH Government for European Integration, Faris Godinjak from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirela Omerović from the Ministry of Development and Entrepreneurship of Tuzla Canton, Selma Ilijazović from the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Transport of Tuzla Canton and Duško Masleša from Directorate for European Integration are the five young professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina who will join the EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans in December this year.

The young professionals will be part of a group of 30 other professionals coming from the Western Balkans countries. The programme was launched in 2016 and had a very positive impact on improving two cornerstones of the EU accession process in the western Balkans – Public administration reform (PAR) and regional cooperation.

The four week-long training programme will take place in France and Belgium. Upon completion of the training programme, the young professionals will participate in a regional exchange component for two weeks in the public administration of a neighbouring WB6/IPA II beneficiary country.

The programme EU Scheme for Young professionals in the Western Balkans is implemented by the British Council.
