sarThe end of the year is approaching and this is the time when results are being summed up. The most watched football match in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015 was played on May 16th at the “Asim Ferhatović Hase” stadium.

There were around 28,000 football fans at the largest Bosnian stadium on that day.

Two of the greatest clubs in country, Željezničar and Sarajevo, were fighting for the championship. The duel was played as part of the 28th BHT Premier League.

At the time, Sarajevo had a one point advantage and a triumph would almost certainly have secured them the championship title. In the end, the result was 0:0, which has been the most common result in the past decade.

The atmosphere among spectators was great but the players did not meet the expectations. Sarajevo benefitted from the draw and retained their one point lead ahead of Željezničar.

In the two remaining matches, Sarajevo defeated Vitez and Sloboda and won the championship for the first time since 2007. More than 25,000 spectators watched the deciding match between Sarajevo and Sloboda.
