A man from a village near Vares befriended a wild animal whom he apparently regularly feeds.
“Come on, eat, don’t be afraid. Come on, my bear, don’t be afraid, Pavo won’t bother you, just eat, come on, have lunch, my bear, come on…”, these are the words that begin a video posted on a Facebook page. It’s unclear when it was filmed, but judging by the surroundings, it seems to be somewhere in early spring.
The description of this video simply states that the bear has settled in the villages of Mir and Stupni Do near Vares.
We don’t even know who this Pavo is, who has befriended the wild animal that seems accustomed to coming from the forest for the meal he brings. Perhaps the bear isn’t even very hungry because this man is urging him, patting him, almost like a little child.
However, there’s a dose of caution both from the bear and from Pavo. The bear frequently stands up on its hind legs, looks around, then hops away, and Pavo says to him: “Don’t be afraid, buddy, don’t touch me, and I won’t touch you either, don’t be afraid, come on, eat, come on.”
We even learn what constitutes the bear’s lunch, and the conclusion of this good man probably amused everyone: “We have little corn left, but we’ll strengthen up, God willing. Tomorrow’s our pension day, God willing, don’t be afraid, come here, come on…,” he invites the bear, who then runs off into the forest, N1 writes.
