Two days ago at the age of 86, Fatima Ahmetspahic (born Forto)died, the mother of our Jasmina Ahmetspahic (born 1968), who became a symbol of virtuous and brave women, a hero who escaped from torturers at the infamous camp, Vilina Vlas”, whose horrors the whole world knew, by jumping to a heroic death in 1992.
This news was confirmed on Saturday, April 20th, by Bakira Hasecic, president of the “Woman – Victim of War” Association, also one of our fearless heroines.
“Jasmina was forcibly separated from her parents by the villains from the apartment on in Fifth Sandzacka Brigade Street no. 55and took her to the infamous Vilina Vlas hotel camp in Visegrad. Jasmina killed herself by jumping from the infamous “Vilina Vlas” hotel. “Most of the victims from “Vilina Vlasi”, such as Jasmina Ahmetspahic, were thrown into the Drina, i.e. into the artificial lake Perucac,” Hasecic pointed out.
Criminal Lukic
Our mother Fatima left this world full of pain on the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Visegrad, but also the anniversary of the death of her beloved Jasmina, who was driven to her death at the age of 24. According to some testimonies, the infamous criminal Milan Lukic (the monster whose book was promoted in 2011 by priests in the Church of St. Sava in Belgrade) kidnapped Jasmina from her parents in Fifth Sandzacka Brigade street no. 55 and took her to “Vilina Vlas”.
Father Mehmed “didn’t know how to help his child, he ran all day around Visegrad, begging known and unknown people and strangers to help him, but he didn’t manage to save his dear daughter“.
By a final verdict of January 12th, 2009, Zeljko Lelek, a member of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska (RS), was sentenced to 16 years in prison for crimes against humanity committed against civilians in Visegrad.
One of the counts of his indictment related to rape. The court panel accepted the testimony of witness M.H. who was raped by the criminal Lelek in the “Vilina Vlas” hotel.
She also testified about the Bosniak women present who were subjected to the same torture. Witnesses M.H. and witness D. were present when Lelek raped Jasmina Ahmetspahic.
According to Lelek’s judgment:
Defense witness Petar Mitrovic also confirms these allegations, when he says that together with the accused he went to the spa where they learned that their Bosniak neighbors were being killed, and that Jasmina Ahmetspahic jumped out of the window. With his testimony, this witness just connected the accused with the time and place of the criminal acts from this point of the indictment”.
Many girls were raped and killed in “Vilina Vlas”. Jasmina chose death rather than humiliation and torture, thus becoming a symbol of desperate resistance to evil, Radio Sarajevo writes.
