TruckersApp is a mobile application made as a kind of social network for all the people who are on the roads all over Europe every day.
Currently, there is nothing similar on the market, we are the first with this kind of product and we see a great opportunity here, says Mirnes Spahić, a citizen living in Graz, who recently presented the TruckersApp application.
The idea, he said, arose four years ago. Since then, market research, driver surveys (as many as 1,460 drivers were surveyed in one of the surveys), application design, branding, programming and, finally, testing. Programming lasted 18 months, and testing lasted two months.
“Since January 16, we are available on the Google Play Store for Android devices and on the App Store. We are available in 43 European countries. Currently, the application is translated into eight languages (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, English, German, Polish, Turkish and Italian). The plan is to make it available in all languages used in Europe, and some languages are already in preparation, so we will add new ones in stages as we prepare marketing for those countries,” Spahić points out.
In the first three days, the application created a real boom on the Google Play Store, where it was in the TOP 50 applications, and at one point even 11. The application is a 100 percent Bosnian product, and the desire is to make a world story.
“After registration, the user creates his profile, uploads a profile picture, a picture of his truck… Every user has the option of searching for friends/colleagues. Can add and send friend requests. See all friends/colleagues on the map where they are. The advantage of this map and location is that in the future, drivers will be able to plan their statutory breaks and weekends more easily and quickly. We found out from our research that drivers often feel lonely at rest areas while taking these breaks,” says Spahić.
Another important option of the application, and which Spahić says is the most important to him, is the ‘SOS button’. Through SOS, the user can ask for help when he has a problem or offer help if someone needs it. Every SOS that is sent is ‘pinned’ on the map so that everyone can see it within defined radii. Also, after sending an SOS, all users, not only friends, who are in that radius will receive a push notification that someone needs help.
“We have SOS for vehicle breakdown, tire problem, flat battery, parking and transportation. We also have various reports related to accidents and traffic jams, police checkpoints, radars and scales where other users can evaluate the credibility of SOS,” specified Spahić.
Other options provided by the application are Notifications, Chat and SOS Dashboard.
“All this until now was the first phase. The skeleton of the next stages is already ready and we will start working on them in the coming days in order to make work and life even easier for people who are on the roads all over Europe for a couple of weeks, alone and without their loved ones,” concludes Spahić, who states that it is special for him glad that this innovative application was realized by a domestic company, which emphasizes the quality of our domestic IT industry, Fena writes.
