President of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) entity Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik said that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Denis Becirovic “can only speak on behalf of Bosniaks” and that in order to address the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, he would have to obtain the opinion of the three-member Presidency of BiH.
“For international political traffic, for an address to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, he should first obtain the position of the BiH Presidency, and then speak on behalf of BiH,” Dodik emphasized for the Srna news agency.
According to him, Becirovic “can’t come to terms with the fact that he can only speak on behalf of Bosniaks and that every statement he makes, like this one about the All-Serbian Assembly, represents only his personal position for domestic use, on some twenty percent of the territory.”
Commenting on Becirovic‘s statement that the declaration, which was adopted at the All-Serbian Parliament on June 8th in Belgrade, “endangers international law and reincarnates the project of a greater Serbia”, the entity president said that Becirovic “as a Muslim Bosniak has nothing to do with the All-Serbian Parliament, nor does the Parliament have anything to do with with the people he represents in the BiH Presidency (according to the Constitution, the members of the BiH Presidency do not represent one nation, but all citizens of the state)”.
He added that “stories about Greater Serbian projects are part of the rhetoric of the 90s of the last century” and that on that “hollow story” Bosniaks during the war in BiH “presented themselves as victims of that project”.
According to him, Becirovic‘s reaction to the All-Serbian Assembly shows the need to bring the RS, the Serbs and their relations under control.
“I tell him not to interfere in our house anymore or to count our family members and relatives. That he does not interfere with our celebrations and gatherings”, said Dodik.
Speaking about Becirovic‘s assessment that the All-Serbian Assembly was used by Russia to destabilize Southeast Europe due to the war in Ukraine, he stated that “fearing the world with Russia and the Russians has become the mantra of Bosniak politicians, who think that with such rhetoric they can buy some sympathy from the West.”, N1 writes.
