1 000 People Evacuated by Helicopter from Zenica, Mainly with Medical Indications

zenica floodsTill today, on the territory of Zenica, 1 000 people were evacuated with help of helicopters. In the majority of cases there was a medical indication to evacuate, said for FENA Agency, the director of Public institution Ambulance in Zenica, Selvedina Sarajlić-Spahić.

She emphasized that the fourth day evacuation is ongoing, namely on the territory of municilaity Zenica and Žepče.

Endangered territories are: local communities Jastrebac, Šerići, Vukotići, Smajići, Kolići, Bistrica, Starina, Orahovica and Željezno Polje.

Firstly, patients, disabled persons, children and pregnant women were evacuated.

“Yesterday we sent health visitors and sanitary technicians and engineers together with medical team in order to estimate the hygienic and epidemiological situation”, added Sarajlić-Spahić.

Moreover, she emphasized on the necessity to use bottled water.

“Medicare in Nemila has been already put in function, and health services can be given at any moment”, added Sarajlić-Spahić.
