The assistance was delivered to all parts to BiH during and after floods, from the country, region and the world.
Benjamin Burlović, a 13-year-old boy, originally from BiH and now living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the USA, decided to donate sports equipment to his peers in BiH cities that were affected by floods.
Burlović told FENA his aim and wish was to donate gently used and new soccer equipment that he grew out of and that his friends helped him to collect 200 kilograms of new sports equipment.
He named the idea ”Soccer United”, and he collected 60 new soccer balls, 300 new shorts, 260 shirts, jackets, pants, cleats and other equipment.
Several days ago he visited SOS Children’s Village in Sarajevo and a football club in Sarajevo district Vogošća where he presented a donation of around 50 sports sets, and he will send the rest next month when he solves problems related to transport.
He and his parents are working on delivering 90% of equipment. His parents said that shipping costs are unexpectedly high, as well as customs at BiH border.
Benjamin wants to make young Dragons happy, future stars, he is a big fan of the BiH football team and he follows all the players and their careers. He said that football is his biggest inspiration and motivation.
“Happiness of my peers, especially the ones who were affected by floods and who will receive the equipment next month is more than enough to get in return. Maybe we will play together sometimes”, said Burlović.
