More than Twenty Companies offered over 350 Jobs during the “Employment Day” in Laktasi

More than twenty companies offered over 350 jobs during the “Employment Day” in Laktaši, organised within the EU-funded Local Partnership for Employment on 24 May.

The event also attracted students of vocational secondary schools who are getting ready to enter the labour market.

Both the citizens seeking jobs and representatives of the companies looking for new employees had an opportunity to participate in a number of workshops.

“We came here to find employees, but also to participate in the workshops. We are offering four new jobs, and we hope to find appropriate people today. There is a lot on offer, we just need people who want to work”, said Dane Sovilj, manager of the Hotel Victoria.

Miroslav Vukajlović from the employment mediation agency Spektar said that many people seeking jobs are not timely informed about vacancies they may apply for.

“This event has enabled job seekers to talk to the employers, and easily learn what is being offered and what requirements do they need to meet in order to start working”, said Vukajlović.

Acting Head of Department for Social Development, Civil Society and Cross-Border Cooperation in the Delegation of the European Union in BiH Gianluca Vannini underlined the European Union’s support to opening new jobs and economic development in BiH.

“The aim of the project in which the EU had invested 4 million Euros is to create new jobs and improve standard of life of people in the country. It gives me great pleasure to see the concrete results of the project, to see that employers and citizens work together under this project jointly trying to find the right solutions”, said Vannini.

The Project “Support to local partnership for employment in BiH”, worth EUR 4 million, financed by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) aims to provide retraining to around 2,000 people and create new 620 jobs in 22 municipalities. This Project is a part of a broader Program for Local Development and Employment financed by the European Union and worth 19 million Euros that aims to reduce unemployment and improving living standard in BiH.
