Almost 96 Percent less Tourists Arrivals and Overnight Stays in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 2020, tourists made 1,539 visits, which is 94.3% less than in March 2020 and 98.9% less than in April 2019.

Tourists spent 7,851 overnight stays, which is 88.4% less than in March 2020 and 97.3% less than in April 2019. The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays is 70.6%, while the share of foreign tourists is 29.4%.

The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists decreased by 82.4% compared to March 2020 and decreased by 93.1% compared to April 2019. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists decreased by 93.6% compared to March 2020 and by 98.9% lower compared to April 2019.

In the structure of overnight stays of foreign tourists in April 2020, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Kuwait (17.3%), Serbia (16.5%), Saudi Arabia (12.6%), Croatia (7.4%), China 6.5%) and Russia (5.5%) which is a total of 65.8%. Tourists from other countries spent 34.2% of tourist nights.

Regarding the length of stay of foreign tourists in our country, in the first place are: Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey, Ukraine and China with an average stay of 30.0 nights and Saudi Arabia with 29.0 nights.

In April 2020, there were 4,680 apartments, camping apartments and places available to tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 76.7% less than in April 2019 and 8,948 beds available, which is 79.1% less than in the same month. 2019.

In April 2020, within the activity – hotels and similar accommodation, tourists had at their disposal a total of 4,536 rooms and suites, which is 74.7% less than in April 2019 and 8,554 beds, which is 76.8% less than the same month of the previous year.

The net utilization rate of permanent beds in April 2020 was 3.3%.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized within the activity Hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 91.5%.
