Analysis of Increase in Value of Products in the First Quarter of this Year

In I quarter of 2020 increase of value of sold agricultural products has been recorded for other products by 16,5%, while the value of sold cereals decreased by 32,4%, potatoes by 13,9%, vegetables by 13,1%, fruits by 1,6%, poultry by 5,1%, products of animals by 6,6% in relation to the I quarter of 2019.

In I quarter of 2020 in the structure of total sale of agricultural products in green markets vegetables participated with 29,9%, products of animals with 27,5%, fruit with 21,1%, potato with 5,6%, other products with 11,1%, poultry with 3,5%, cereals with 1,1% and cut flowers with 0,16%.

Average prices of selected sold agricultural products on green market for I quarter of 2020 are given in this release.

In I quarter of 2020 the value of purchased cereals increased by 153,3%, potato by 60,1%, forage plants by 3,2%, fruits by 1,7% and animals by 15,5% while decreasing of the values of purchasing were recorded for vegetables by 9,7%, products of animals by 4,8% and other products by 21,9% compared to I quarter of 2019.

Increased values of direct sale/realization in I quarter of 2020 compared to I quarter of 2019 were recorded in cereals by 110,3%, industrial crops by 33,1%, forage plants by 44,6%, animals by 14,1% and other products by 23,2% while decreasing of the values of direct sales/realization were recorded for potato by 48,1%, vegetables by 46,5%, fruits by 2,1%, material used for planting by 35,2%, alcoholic beverages by 5,8%, products of animals by 8,0%.

Average prices of purchased and directly sold/realized prices of selected agricultural products (output) are also given in this release for I quarter of 2020.

In April of 2020 the total amount of collected cow’s milk increased by 1,7% in relation with the same period of 2019. Production of drinking milk increased by 19,2%, while the production of cream decreased by 9,1%, acidified milk by 22,0%, butter and other yellow fat products by 13,6% and cow’s cheese by 6,6% in relation with the same period of 2019.

The total amount of milk fat increased by 0,3%, and the total amount of milk protein increased by 0,6% in relation with the same period of 2019.

The total seasonally adjusted retail trade turnover in Bosnia and Herzegovina in March, observed in current prices, decreased by 11.8 percent compared to February this year, according to BiH’s Agency for Statistics.

The turnover in the trade of food products (food, beverages and tobacco products) increased by 1.8 percent, while the trade in non-food products decreased by 16.5 percent.

Observed in constant prices, the total retail trade turnover in BiH in March this year decreased by 12.9 percent compared to February. The increase in turnover was recorded in trade in food products by 1.9 percent, while in trade in non-food products there was a decrease in turnover of 19 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

The total retail trade turnover in BiH, observed in current prices, in March this year decreased by 6.9 percent compared to March last year.

Turnover in food products grew by 11.7 percent, while turnover in non-food products decreased by 9.8 percent compared to March last year.

Observed in constant prices, the total retail trade turnover decreased by 7.7 percent compared to March 2019. Turnover in food products increased by 10.8 percent, while turnover in non-food products decreased by 11.5 percent.
