Vedad Basic from Mostar won the title of champion in the 454th jumps from the Old Bridge in Mostar held on Sunday. In both rounds of the competition for the performance of jumps on head “last”, Basic received the highest points from all the members of the jury.

Although his jumping career lasts for a full two decades, this is Basic’s first victory, which he experienced especially emotionally, Avaz news portal reports.

“I realized the dream that has been dreamed by all Mostar residents. I tried hard and after 20 years, it has has finally here. This year’s competition was unusual because of the coronavirus, and I hope we win that too. I don’t know if I will compete next year. Because, I am 40 years old and I will think twice,” said Basic after the victory.

The second place in the category of head jumps, in which 12 jumpers competed, went to Danko Dangubic from Konjic, and the third place was won by Mustafa Saric from Zenica.

This is the eighth and third consecutive victory for Igor Kazic from Mostar, the winner of the jumps in the category on legs, in which 19 competitors participated.

“I hope this year is not my last triumph. There was fierce competition, you saw that five more jumpers had all tens after the first set, as well as that in the second they all jumped well. The nuances decided. For me, they are all winners,” said Kazic.

The second and third place in this category went to Admir Delic and Kenan Jukla, both from Mostar.

Alica Jakirovic, who chaired the expert jury, and which also included brothers Zukanovic, Samir and Ermin and Semir Drocic and Haris Skoro, expressed satisfaction with this year’s event, which was held in completely different conditions due to the situation with the coronavirus.
