City of Bihac and the Tourist Board of the City of Bihac, with the support of the Municipal Environmental and Economic Governance (MEG) project funded by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), launched campaign “Holidays in BiHać” “.
The aim of the campaign is to attract domestic tourists, promote natural beauties of the northwest of our country and empower tourism service providers“Do you know all the beauties that your country can offer? If not, maybe now is the right time to discover them. I am happy to announce the beginning of the “Holidays in BiHać” campaign. Switzerland supports this promising campaign through the MEG project. Together with the City of Bihać, we have designed a scheme of tourist vouchers for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who want to spend their vacation in Bihać and northwestern Bosnia. We want to promote local tourism at a time when foreign tourists are not ready to travel. This year, Bosnia and Herzegovina is yours. Take the opportunity and enjoy its turquoise rivers, visit its medieval towns and just relax in the stunning greenery. I am looking forward to my holidays in the Una-Sana region,” said Barbara Datwyler Scheuer, Director of Cooperation at the Swiss Embassy in BiH.
The City of Bihać has allocated 100,000 BAM for this project, while the Government of Switzerland participates through the MEG project with 54,000 BAM. Thus, packages of tourist and catering offers will be subsidized for visitors in the amount of 200 BAM. So, if the value of the offered package is 320 BAM, it will be subsidized for 200 BAM, while the consumer pays the difference in price.
