Kosarac: By the end of the Year, 800 Tons of Meat will be exported to Turkey

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Stasa Kosarac, said during his visit to the Meat Industry “ZP komerc” in Vrsani near Bijeljina that about 800 tons of red meat from this company will be delivered to Turkey by the end of the year.

Kosarac pointed out that the effort paid off, the effort invested by the Government of Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers because it enabled businessmen from Srpska and the Federation of BiH (FBiH) to export to Turkey, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

He added that on Monday, he will talk with the Turkish authorities in order to realize the total quota of 3,000 tons this year.

“It is already certain that two companies, one from Srpska and one from FBiH, will have an approved job of 800 tons each, so that the total quota will remain around 500 tons, which would reduce market surpluses and we could have a relaxed atmosphere,” said Kosarac , who together with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Boris Pasalic and the Mayor of Bijeljina Mico Micici.

“Our estimates say that we would be satisfied with 5,000 tons, and I expect that with the strength of arguments and good relations we have with Turkey, we will resolve this issue next year,” Kosarac told reporters.

He stated that the Ministry will look for new markets, and will have a meeting with the Malaysian ambassador to BiH on Monday, considering the fact that the Veterinary Certificate was verified by that country, and due to the epidemiological situation, no work was done.
