Officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested Bosko Uncanin and Dragan Despot, who are suspected of shooting and killing at least 78 people in Velagici near Kljuc in June 1992. As stated in the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Uncanin and Despot, as former members of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), are charged with expelling civilians personally and directly, together with other persons, on June 1, 1992 in Velagici near Kljuc, Detektor.ba writes.

“The civilians were ordered to line up in front of the school, after which the suspects, along with other people, shot and killed at least 78 victims, whose bodies were transported by trucks and buried in a mass grave.”

As stated, the remains of the killed civilians were found and exhumed from the mass grave “Laniste II” in 1996. Uncanin and Despot are charged with committing the crime of “crime against humanity”. During the day, they will be handed over to the acting prosecutor, who will decide on further activities after the examination.
