The expert teams of University Clinical Center (UCC) in Tuzla provided more than 3,300,000 services, more than 43,000 patients were hospitalized, and over 19,000 general anesthesia surgeries were performed over the past year.

The management of this healthcare institution emphasized that the increase in the number of services is more and more evident, and that this year will be especially remembered by the procurement of highly sophisticated equipment that contributed to the improvement of the process of work, while patients had the greatest benefits.

The number of patients in this institution is increased by 2 % per year, and the director of the UCC Tuzla Hotic noted that the financial report of this institution for the year of 2017 will be better than the previous year.

When it comes to waiting lists that were subject of complaints several times, he noted that this problem has been resolved in most clinics.

Hotic also stated that UCC Tuzla also made a step forward when it comes to treatment of the youngest citizens, and they established new Department of Oncology and Hematology, within which was treated 177 youngest patients, i.e. those suffering from the most severe malignant diseases.

They also established the system of electronic charts, which is intended for speeding up the process of data exchange between primary and secondary health care institutions.

The activities regarding the introduction of electronic referral letters were continued as well, and the patient will no longer need the paper referral letters for examinations that are conducted on the UCC Tuzla.

This healthcare institution employs 2,476 persons at the moment, and Hotic concluded that UCC can be further improved, and they will strive to that in the upcoming period.
