jahorinaThere are 20 tour operators from Russia on visit to the Olympic Mountain Jahorina, which is expected to contribute to the additional opening of this tourist destination towards the Russian and other new markets.

Acting Director of Tourism and Hospitality in the Olympic Center ‘Jahorina’ Dragan Sokolović stressed at a press conference for journalists that the multi-year efforts by hoteliers, tourist boards and the OC has paid off, and that barriers have been removed fro the arrival of guests from Russia, one of the most interesting markets in the world.

‘’There are no more visas now, which were a problem in the last few years, because individual arrivals were very difficult’’, said Sokolović. According to him, the introduction of flights Sarajevo-Moscow gets nearer to Jahorina, not only to the Russian but also to other markets. He thinks that, for now, it is not realistic to expect significant groups yet, but a circle of concrete actions for a significant influx of tourists from Russia has been made.

‘’This winter we can expect the arrival of several hundred Russian tourists, and the serious results of this visit is expected next season’’, said Sokolović. According to him, a group of Turkish tourists have been present in Jahorina for several years already, and there should be constant work on this, because the quality of products and number of arrivals would improve.
