The Bosnian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York announces that the 20th anniversary edition will be held from April 24 to 27 at the SVA Theater in New York.
After a large number of films were submitted for consideration, a total of fourteen films were selected for the final competitive program of the festival. The 20th annual festival will include a series of interactive sessions and talks with guests, organizers said.
This year’s film selection presents a diverse array of themes and approaches to cinematography, from film artists working in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the Bosnian diaspora around the world. The organizers of the BHFF are proud that the festival will screen films with renowned names, as well as films by young filmmakers on the rise.
“As has already become our tradition, this year we continue to encourage the work of female directors,” they stated.
The topics covered by this year’s selected films are broad and comprehensive, and they deal with a number of important social issues through different filmic approaches.
As part of the BHFF competition program, three feature films, five short films and six documentaries will be screened.
