The School in Bihac announced that there is no Reason to panic because of the former Student’s Threats

The citizens of Bihać were disturbed today by a threatening message on the Instagram social network, which was posted by a former student of the town’s secondary school.

The director of this public institution, Ervin Bajraktarević, was the first to confirm that the Police of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) was aware of the threat on social networks, and that the competent authorities immediately acted according to their authority.

“There is no need to panic and fear because of the threatening message of a former student of this school on social networks. The competent authorities were informed properly and on time, and they immediately reacted according to their authority,” said Bajraktarević.

After the preliminary investigative actions and procedures, the USC Police Administration also made a statement about everything, during which it was officially confirmed that all actions within the jurisdiction were taken and that the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office was also involved in the entire case.

”Police officers reacted after several reports from citizens, but also from employees of the mixed secondary school in Bihać due to a threatening message on the social network Instagram. The acting prosecutor decided that the case should be taken over by the officers of the Federal Police Administration (FPA), given that one of the parents of the person who posted the threatening message is employed by the USK Police Administration. All further actions will be carried out by the competent USC Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, i.e. members of the FPA,” said the acting Commissioner of the USK Police, Jusuf Mešić.

He added that the person was already known, precisely because of threatening and disturbing messages on social networks, which is also why investigative actions were carried out against him in October last year within the scope of police jurisdiction.

“At that time, we acted because of very disturbing and threatening messages, after which the acting prosecutor conducted an investigative interview with him, given that the person was a minor,” Mešić said.

More information about everything will be known in the coming days, but it was reiterated that citizens, students and school employees have no reason to fear and worry.

It was also emphasized that due to yesterday’s tragic event in the Republic of Serbia, all police stations in the Una-Sana Canton are obliged to provide maximum security engagement in educational institutions.
