During 2023, 24,300 traffic accidents occurred on the roads in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 13.9 percent more than in 2022.
Of the total number of traffic accidents, there were 19,260 accidents with material damage or 79.3 percent. The total number of people killed in traffic accidents is higher by 18 people or 15.4 percent, and the number of injured people is higher by 341 people or 5.0 percent compared to 2022.
According to age, the largest number of people killed belongs to the age group between 25-64 years, and it is 78 people or 57.8 percent of the total number of people killed.
The largest number of injured persons belongs to the same age group, i.e. 3,791 persons or 53.0 percent of the total number of injured persons.
Observed by month, the largest number, i.e. 2,348 traffic accidents occurred in August, which is 9.7 percent of the total number of traffic accidents on the roads in FBiH in 2023.
The highest number of deaths, 22 people, was in June, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
