In Sarajevo on Saturday, the 18th edition of the “Run/Walk for Healing – Race for the Cure” was held, the largest socially responsible event in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). For this year’s event, more than 12.000 citizens registered, organized into almost 300 teams, and 250.000 BAM was raised to support the fight against breast cancer.

Organized by Think Pink – Together We Are One, the event attracted guests from more than 50 cities and municipalities across BiH. At the center of the event were our heroines – more than 600 women in pink shirts, leading the walk through the streets of Sarajevo.

All funds collected from registrations will be directed to breast cancer prevention programs and improving the quality of life for women affected by the disease. This money will fund free mammography screenings in rural areas of BiH, provide psychosocial support to women with the disease, first aid packages for newly operated patients, as well as educational campaigns on the importance of regular check-ups aimed at citizens, especially young people.

In addition to the central walk, a children’s race and a recreational race were held. The program was further enriched by fitness and Zumba instructors Lejla Sebic, Lejla Piric, and Amar Cejvan. In the entertainment segment, performances were given by Maid Hecimovic, Nihad Malicbegovic, Josip Milanovic Pisoj, and the Mostar majorettes.

The organization Think Pink – Together We Are One expressed deep gratitude to all participants, sponsors, media partners, and project ambassadors who contributed to the success of this inspiring event.

“Together we build awareness about the importance of prevention and provide support to our heroines and everyone fighting this disease. Thank you for being part of our mission,” the organizers said.
