The Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Sarajevo Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society, organized a cultural event on October 20 at 6:00 PM in the “Cvjetko Rihtman” Hall in Sarajevo. The event marked the 26th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, which this year is dedicated to the theme: “An Ingenious Language: Imagining, Planning, and Creating in Italian.”
The goal of this year’s initiative is to promote the Italian language as a medium for creative expression, innovation, and cultural dialogue, with a particular focus on its capacity to transform ideas into projects and works of art.
The core of the program was dedicated to literature. Elvira Mujčić, an author who writes in Italian, presented a previously unpublished story, accompanied by an introductory address from Simona Cives, Director of the Rome City Library system. The musical program featureed soprano Hana Andrle, with piano accompaniment by Bakir Samardžić, while the event concluded with a roundtable discussion on various forms of artistic and cultural expression in the Italian language.
The event was also attended by Massimiliano Smeriglio, the Rome City Councilor for Culture, whose visit serves as an additional opportunity to strengthen cultural ties between Rome and Sarajevo.
