Racing fans from 30 countries gathered at 11th Sarajevo half-marathon on Sunday morning in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Sarajevo. Around 3,000 runners ran a 21 kilometers long route through the main streets of Sarajevo.

The winner of this year’s half-marathon is Hungarian athlete Tamas Nagy, who ran 21 kilometers in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 4 seconds. Second place is taken by Croatian Vinko Slisko and third place by BiH Slavisa Bunic. Among women, BiH athlete Lucia Kimani had the best time.

By participating in this run, people of all age groups were carrying the message that working together will contribute to building a more beautiful, tolerant, healthier and better society.

Started in 2006, Sarajevo half-marathon aims to bond and empower individuals and society; to promote healthy lifestyles through sport in a positive and friendly environment, and encourage overcoming personal boundaries in a supportive atmosphere.
