Srebrenica ibtimes.co.ukDirector of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies (DKPT) in BiH Mirsad Vilić, together with his assistants and commanders, yesterday visited the locality of Potočari, where on July 11 a commemoration will be held on the occasion of the 12st anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica and the funeral of 127 victims of the genocide.

Final checkups of details of the security plan for the Memorial Center that are under direct jurisdiction of the DKPT were executed in the field.

Directorate is the holder of all activities related to the operating of the Operational Headquarters of the action “Srebrenica 2016”, consisted of representatives of OSA, SIPA, Border Police of BiH, Armed Forces of BiH, and the two entity ministries of internal affairs.

“Arrival of between 20.000 and 30.000 people to the commemoration is expected. As the head of DKPT, together with my assistants and commanders, I am staying in Srebrenica for three days, until the end of the funeral and the departure of all those who come here on that day, from citizens to officials,” said Vilić.

Vilić highlighted that the planned activities are implemented without problems and that none of the agencies obtained any information or data that any kind of incident could occur during the marking of the anniversary of the genocide.

“I would kindly ask all citizens who intend to attend the commemoration and the funeral to come to Potočari earlier in order to avoid crowds,” Vilić said.
