In Brcko, the 31st anniversary of the crimes in the Luka war camp, one of the most infamous in the past war, which was formed on May 7th, 1992, was marked yesterday, and this date is also marked as the Day of the War Camp Prisoners of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Shocking footage from Luka went around the world, and afterpressure from the international public, the camp was closed in August of the same year. According to the data of the Association of War Camp Prisoners in BiH, in this period about 3.000 persons of non-Serb nationality were subjected to torture, and more than 100 prisoners were killed and their bodies were thrown into the Sava River.

Next year, two-thirds of the 40-year prison sentence for the cruelest executor of the Luka camp, the convicted war criminal Goran Jelisic, will expire.
