With the joint ribbon cutting ceremony, the Prime Minister of the FBiH Nermin Nikšić, High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko and the FBiH Minister of Agriculture, Water and Mining Jerko Ivanković-Lijanović opened today in Gradačac the 40th jubilee International Fair of Agriculture and Food, the plum fair.
‘’The plum fair in Gradačac is an example that this country is unrivaled when it comes to natural resources. The agricultural sector has one huge, long-term economic goal’’, said High Representative to B&H Valentin Inzko, and added that the potential has still not been used due to the slow pace of the certification of agricultural products, but significant progress has been made.
He said that Gradačac could be an example for the rest of B&H when it comes to agricultural production, and that fruits and vegetables from B&H could find a profitable place on the European market.
The Prime Minister of the FBiH Nermin Nikšić said how the fair is a good example that B&H has lots of potential and opportunity for development.
‘’Around 280 exhibitors at the fair in Gradačac is a confirmation that at such manifestations, it is not important for exhibitors to be only seen, but to establish business contacts and correct business cooperation’’, said Prime Minister Nikšić.
He added that during the fair there will be a series of professional conferences and consulting, where exchange of experiences on advanced technologies will take place, with the goal to improve the production of food, which is one of the strategic orientations of the FBiH government.
